January 26, 2004...The Honorable Faye Culp, State Representative (Dist. 57) hosted a spaghetti dinner at our Civic Center.
February 6, 2004...The Eagle Scouts from Troop 245 at St. Patrick's Church, under the guidance on Mr. Dave Griswold, performed a community project at our Civic Center. With generous donations from two civic minded companies, Landcraft Development and Smith Fence, the scouts built, to ADA standards, a concrete ramp for the front entrance. As you can see, they worked hard and did a wonderful job.
May 1, 2004...Al Steenson was proud to represent the Association at the Mayor's first Anniversary luncheon.
May 26-29, 2004...The Eagle Scouts paid us another visit. This time, with donations, they painted the entire exterior of our Civic Center.
July 16, 2004...Al Steenson and five other neighborhood leaders met for a "Mayor's Coffee" to discuss and explore issues within the individual communities.
August 31, 2004...Our Civic Center, as it has for over 40 years, serves our neighborhood as Precinct #105 under the direction of the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections. Our Clerk, Vivian Hart, has assembled an excellent staff of dedicated poll workers. This Precinct has a long history of conducting smooth and accurate elections.
October 30, 2004...Several neighborhood leaders met with Councilman John Dingfelder and formed a group named N.E.S.T. Neighborhood Empowerment in South Tampa. The group will meet quarterly to review and discuss issues that impact al of South Tampa.
November 2, 2004...The general election was again held at our Civic Center and our neighborhood can be very proud. There was better than 50% turnout. As you can see, we had voters lined up before the polls opened and stayed busy all day.
December 13, 2004...At this monthly meeting, elections were held for new officers and we shared some Christmas "pot-luck"
